Honor Cord Qualification & Validation

Validation

Honor Cords may only be worn by graduates whose test scores have been validated by Homeschool Idaho.

Eligibility:

Student must have qualifying scores at least once as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior, on one of these approved tests, and must submit those scores to Homeschool Idaho for verification, in order to be eligible to wear honor cords.

IOWA Complete Assessment, taken through Homeschool Idaho or another testing provider

or ACT

Please submit test results for verification to Homeschool Idaho via email at info@homeschoolIdaho.org or by mail to:

PO Box 45062, Boise, ID  83711 by March 1, 2020 to qualify for honor cords.

Qualifications for Gold Honor Cords:

Gold honor cords are awarded to 10th to 12th grade students who have achieved one or more of the following test scores:

IOWA Test: a complete composite score of 80th percentile or higher
ACT: score of 26 or higher
SAT: score of 1250 or higher

These students are designated as Magna Cum Laude Scholars.

Qualifications for White Honor Cords:

Gold honor cords are awarded to 10th to 12th grade students who have achieved one or more of the following test scores:

IOWA Test: a complete composite score of 80th percentile or higher
ACT: score of 29 or higher
SAT: score of 1350 or higher

These students are designated as both Magna Cum Laude, and Summa Cum Laude Scholars, and are entitled to wear both gold and white honor cords. Graduates who qualify for white honor cords usually wear both gold and white cords since they qualify for both. Please plan accordingly when ordering.

Ordering Cords

If you know that your student has already qualified for honor cords, you may order them at the time of registration. If your graduate is testing in March and hoping to be eligible for honor cords, please wait to order cords until after results are back.
